August 8 2023 Update
Still on the green side; turned 89. I know it has been over a month since I have posted on this site. Here is the latest of my situation. I am still in a par wheelchair, have a hospital bed in my home, and a shower buddy in my shower, still dependent on one of my daughters and my wife or care. I have weakened to a point where scratching myself anywhere from nose to toes is almost impossible because of the loss of muscles in my arms and hands and legs. Mentally I am very alert and spend most of my days in front of a computer reading articles researching cures for all my ailments, and being fed by my wife or my daughter. I do get discouraged often but not to the extent of being depressed. The positive attitude around me, family and friends, keep me on the bright side of expectations, knowing my situation will not get any better than it is presently. My communication skills are adequate and typing is accomplished by using a speech to text application on my computer and a mouse in the right indexing here to navigate on the computer. I think my biggest challenge is how to be a patient having patience.

Hi Charlie,
Good to hear you are still hanging in there. I didn’t realize you had IBM (was more interested in your SR-71 stories I guess).
Thanks for documenting so much of everything you have experienced. You are a tough person, and seems like you have a lot of caring people around to help.
I’m also getting to that age where I do a lot of reminiscing, with Okinawa and the SR-71 program were some of the most interesting times I had. Glad you were there too.
Craig Davidson boy is that ring a bell. I am planning to go to the Blackbird Reunion in June and hope to see Mike Hall there.
How are you doing and where are you living. My email is habuchas@gmail.com. Drop me a line.
